I met this young man in the middle of a gang war in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
He showed me around his community for two days, and even though he had tattoos from head to toe and carried a big gun, he showed me a different side of him. Big heart, community man, father that never wanted this life, but it is what he was born into.
I don’t expect everyone to understand but this news hit me hard, life is not easy and it is not guaranteed in the mean streets of Port-au-Prince Haiti.
I received the bad news that he was killed in a shoot out with rival gang.
