Canada’s political leaders are reacting after a shooting at a secondary school in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., left multiple people dead and others injured.
Prime Minister Mark Carney called it “a very difficult day for the nation,” saying Canada stands with the community and that federal officials are working with B.C.’s premier to offer support.
“We will get through this, we will learn from this, but right now it’s a time to come together as Canadians,” Carney said.
Pierre Poilievre, Don Davies, Elizabeth May and Zoe Royer also offered condolences, thanked first responders and urged Canadians to come together in the wake of the tragedy.
