Vancouver Island police departments are voicing their support for a plan to facilitate the federal Government’s buyback program for assault-style firearms.
The association of chiefs of police is proposing a collection unit where people can drop-off firearms recently banned by the Canadian federal government.
Oak Bay, Victoria and Saanich police departments along with the BC RCMP say they’ll participate in the initiative. Plans are still int he works.
