The man found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of a Toronto-area rapper was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years.

Stephen Little-McClacken was shot to death in broad daylight in a busy area outside the Scotiabank Arena in June 2022.

Nirusan Shakespearethas suffered from a mental illness at the time, and the defence argued he should be found not criminally responsible.

On Thursday, the family of Little-McClacken addressed their loved ones’ killer.

Catherine McDonald reports.
