A teenage girl has been sentenced to three years after pleading guilty to attempted murder and unlawfully causing bodily harm in connection with an arson attack at a Saskatchewan school.
The girl, who was 14 years old at the time of the September 2024 incident, cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The court was told that on the day of the incident, the girl splashed lighter fluid on the 15-year-old victim and set her on fire in a hallway.
As Globalβs Vanessa Tiberio reports, the victimβs family expressed dismay at the length of the sentence.
