In this video I give a general overview on the top 10 deadliest mass shootings in Canadian history.
Mass shootings are generally defined as events in which one or more attackers uses firearms to kill or injure multiple people in a non-combat setting. Generally these are events in which 4 or more people are killed or injured, excluding the perpetrator.
Canada is not known for it’s mass shootings, especially compared to the USA. However, there have been many significant mass shooting events throughout Canadian history.
I compiled a list of the 10 deadliest mass shootings in Canada, ranked from number 10 to number 1 in terms of total fatalities. Numbers 10 through 8 each had 6 fatalities, I had to select from a number of events with 6 fatalities (there were more than 3).
I cover the following events in this video:
10 – 1972 Kettle Valley, BC Shooting
9 – 2017 Quebec City Mosque Shooting
8 – 2001 Kirkland, QC Shootings
7 – 1956 Erskine, AB Massacre
6 – 1965 Coquitlam, BC Shooting
5 – 2014 Edmonton Shootings
4 – 1967 Shell Lake, SK Murders
3 – 1996 Vernon, BC Massacre
2 – 1989 Ecole Polytechnique Massacre
1 – 2020 Nova Scotia Attacks
