A Toronto man accused of killing his girlfriend of two years said in court Thursday that he hadn’t meant to kill her.
Taking the stand in his first-degree murder trial, Carland Walker testified that he had beaten his girlfriend, Nabila Aminzadah, multiple times leading up to her death.
Walker is on trial for first-degree murder. At the opening of his trial, he had tried to plead guilty to manslaughter but that plea was rejected by the judge.
Catherine McDonald reports on the trial and his testimony.
