On December 1st, I visited Tepito in Mexico City to witness the vibrant celebration of Santa Muerte. Hundreds of devoted followers filled the streets, carrying statues large and small as they gathered to honor, respect, and pray to the beloved folk saint. The air was thick with incense, music, and emotionβa blend of reverence, community, and tradition that is often misunderstood from the outside. Come with Yusuf and me as we step into this powerful cultural ritual and explore a Mexican tradition that reveals far more depth, devotion, and humanity than many realize.
