In this exclusive Detroit interview, I take a drive with a former member of the infamous Black Mafia Family, better known as BMF. Rising from the streets of Detroit in the late 1980s, BMF grew into one of the most talked-about organizations in American history, leaving a lasting impact on both street culture and the hip-hop world. Founded by brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, the organization expanded far beyond Michigan, building a nationwide reputation that would eventually make headlines across America. Prosecutors later alleged the organization generated hundreds of millions of dollars before federal investigations brought its operations to an end.

Today, the name BMF remains legendary in Detroit and throughout hip-hop culture. Big Meech became known for his larger-than-life personality, celebrity connections, and the launch of BMF Entertainment, which helped bridge the gap between the streets and the music industry. Their story has since been told through documentaries, books, and the hit television series BMF.

In this interview, we go beyond the headlines to hear firsthand stories from someone who lived through that era.
