Officials in Melville, Sask., are expected to provide an update Monday after two officers were shot while responding to an assault at a home northeast of Regina.
RCMP say two officers were seriously hurt but didn’t provide any details. They say the pair were shot as soon as they arrived and were taken to hospital.
A four-hour standoff followed, with police tactical teams and a K-9 unit called in to surround the house. A suspect was later arrested, and a second person who emerged from the home was let go without arrest.
